Benjamin Esau, LLB, Foundation Vice Chair

Benjamin J.F. Esau is a resident of Port Hardy and a practicing Law Attorney. He has a strong interest in Senior’s wellness and brings to the Foundation a wealth of experience in society, corporate and organizational structure. 

Harry Mutti, CPA, BBA, Foundation Treasurer

Harry Mutti  brings  excellent accountability to the North Island Seniors Housing Foundation. Harry holds a Bachelor of Business Accounting degree as well as earning a Chartered Accountant qualification. Harry has a wealth of knowledge of non profit organizational accounting bringing stability to the Foundation.

Harry is a partner in Ascentia CPA, a progressive cloud based accounting technology. He recently purchased Dan Foster Chartered Accountant firm in Port Hardy, BC. Harry is an avid traveller, enjoys yoga, and all things food

Dennis Dugas Executive Chairperson

Dennis Dugas is a founding member of the North Island Seniors Foundation.  He is family man who has made Port Hardy his home for almost 40 years.   In the Fall of 2014 he retired from his career with the District of Port Hardy.  While serving as a Councilor and subsequently Mayor of Port Hardy he chose, and was appointed to, a number of roles and committees. and has a keen awareness of vital seniors housing challenges. He loves the North Island and plans on staying here. He states “Why would anyone leave when we have the freshest air, cleanest ocean, and most spectacular scenery in the world right in our own back yard!

Donna Gualt - Foundation Secretary

Donna Gault is a senior’s advocate, business person, and a retired Hotelier. She is an active Volunteer at the Hardy Bay Seniors Citizens Centre Board as the Board Treasurer, and ithe Secretary of the North Island Seniors Housing Foundation, Chair of the Port Hardy Tourism Advisory Committee, Member of the Vancouver Island Regional Tourism Committee, Member of  the Community Consultative Committee for Port Hardy.

As a Patient Partners representative, she sits on the following Committees: Member of the Quality Operations Council of Island Health, Member of the Emergency Services Advisory Committee, Member of Save BC-Study to Avoid Cardiovascular Events in BC.

Donna has lived in Port Hardy for 34 years

Bud Masales - Foundation Executive

Bud Masales is a well known local businessman and independent Construction Contractor. He is a long-time resident of the Pacific North West, and an avid entrepreneur.  Bud and his wife Diane have owned and managed a number of industrial enterprises including a logging company, road building contractor, and slipway/shipbuilder enterprise. He freely donates his time to many community events and is presently the President of the Harvest Food Bank. An avid fisherman, he can frequently be found preparing fish dinners for the Hardy Bay Seniors Citizens Society.

Gordon Patterson Past Chair Charter Member

Gordon Patterson, is a retired  health and management professional. He holds certifications as a Human Resource Management Professional (Cornell University) and Occupational Safety & Health Professional (OSH-USA).  He also enjoyed a long career with the British Columbia Ambulance Service practicing as an Advanced Life Support Air-Evacuation Paramedic (ALS-CCT).  He attended both Simon Frazer and Victoria Universities focusing on Management Principles & Practices.

Rosaline Glynn - Executive Member

Rosaline Glynn is a seniors wellness advocate and has lived in Port Hardy for 42 years. King Charles 111 Coronation Medal Recipient, and past Chair of the award winning Hardy Bay Senior Citizens Society, Representative on the SEBLAC committee, Seniors Elders Better Living Advisory committee, Member of the North Island Housing Foundation, Senior Hero of the Year for 2018, Former director of the Port Hardy Chamber of Commerce,Founder of the Red Hat Divas, Owned and operated a Bed and breakfast, won the award for best Home Based Business, Returning Officer (AARO) for Elections Canada for 27 years,Former member of the Communities in Bloom Committee, Former Emergency Social Services Director.Member of toastmasters, Member of the Museum Collection Committee
