Request for Proposal Managing Operator

The North Island Seniors Housing Foundation (The Foundation) requests Expressions of Interest from individuals or a Society to become the “Managing Operator” of a proposed Seniors & Elders housing project renting living spaces to Senior North Island residents.
Duties include operating budget development, security, securing rent, renting spaces, interior & exterior maintenance coordination, and other duties as BC Housing may require.The Managing Operator would be required to enter into an agreement with BC Housing BUILDING BC: COMMUNITY HOUSING FUND
Construction is expected to commence late 2025. Renters will include mixed income multi cultured senior aged persons (age 55 years and older). The development will offer up to 40 living spaces, and other community interest leased space (amenities) and rooms.
Briefly the Foundation housing complex will be comprised of:
- Living spaces available to seniors with low to moderate incomes who are expected to meet the eligibility requirements of publicly funded programs
- Living spaces available to seniors without income restrictions and funding needs
- A future community seniors activity center with kitchen and dining facilitie
- Exterior grounds and parking area
Partners and stakeholders in this exciting complex are expected to be the Port Hardy District, First Nations, BC Housing, CMHC, and Island Health.
The successful operating entity will be responsible to the Regulatory Acts, BC Housing, the District, and the North Island Seniors Housing Foundations Board of Directors. Please note: The housing development is a not -for-profit entity.
